Registry Round Up: I Can’t Decide Which Diaper Bag

HGTV Jasmine Roth pregnant registry baby round up picks diaper bags

I like a good bag as much as the next girl, so I figured picking out a diaper bag would be fun and easy. I was wrong. Probably harder than the things I thought I’d never need. There are so many choices. Tote or backpack? Vegan leather or nylon? Removable insert or built-in pockets? The list goes on. I was feeling overwhelmed, so I went back to the drawing board and tried to think about what I was really looking for in a diaper bag. Here is the list I came up with:

My Diaper Bag Necessities

  1. Not too feminine: I want Brett to be able to take the bag out on his own without feeling like he’s carrying my purse around.
  2. Lots of pockets: You all know I love a place for everything, and everything in it’s place!
  3. Good for travel: We are a family on the move, and I need a bag that can move with us, on trains, planes, and in automobiles.

With my list of top priorities in hand, I went back to the web and did some more searching. Here are some of the best diaper bags I found:

What I realized was, one bag was not going to be all the things I needed. So, I decided to register for one day-to-day diaper bag, and one travel diaper bag.

I REALLY love all the feminine, floral, and blush pink options, but ultimately, I need to be practical and stick to my guns about getting unisex bags that both Brett and I can use. Luckily, there was one day-to-day diaper bag Brett and I settled on.

The Best Day-to-Day Diaper Bag

There weren’t as many pockets in the Herschel bag as I would have liked, so I also registered for this removable insert (which looks like a TOTAL game changer), and a travel changing pad.

I’m so excited to get the bag all perfectly loaded up with wipes and mini-human sized diapers and yummy lotion, I can’t even tell you!! I’ll have to get it all ready to go and then enjoy how pristine it looks over the next month because once the baby arrives, I know it won’t stay that way for long!

Also, did you see those super handy Valet Stroller Clips I discovered? They allow you to clip your diaper bag to the back handles of the stroller, which just seems like the most ingenious idea to me.

Next up, I knew I needed the perfect travel version.

The Best One for Travel

This bag has ALL the compartments I’ve been longing for, and sits perfectly on the top of a rolling carry-on. It is significantly larger than the day-to-day bag I selected, so it can fit all the additional items necessary for a long flight (I have family in New Jersey, so there are long flights to be had). And the color was agreeable to both Brett and I.

Done and done.

If I get around to it, I’ll post some pics of my diaper bags all loaded up. I can’t imagine you’re as excited about this idea as I am, but I know you’ll humor me, because you are a nice person and I am in the throes of third-trimester pregnancy.

  1. Josee Maurice

Jasmine, you need one with a removable mat to change diapers in public places (which are never clean) and could hang on the stroller or carried as a back pack. I even had one that hooked to my bicycle ! Most important it must be washable. 🙂

  2. Karen Tiedemann

I like all! I d get both and switch off
