My Favorite Baby Swim Gear

Before I became a mom, I never imagined myself being obsessed with baby swim gear and accessories.  But now baby swim classes are routine with Hazel!  I’m not sure if loving the water is something you’re born with, but Hazel has loved the water since day 1, so it sure does feel that way!

She loved her first bath and every single bath she’s had since.  Since she loved her bath so much, we were excited to see if she would like the pool.  We waited until she was 4 months old and our pediatrician said it was okay for us to take her in the pool.

Just to be clear, we live in Southern California and we swim year-round.  Here’s the gear we got to make sure she loved her first pool experience…

My Favorite Swim Gear for Babies

Swim Diapers

Reusable Swim Diaper

Canopy Floatie with Safety Seat

Waterproof Wet Bag

Terry Towel Coverup

Classic Baby Sunglasses

Mix & Match Flipper Water Toys

Chambray Bucket Hat

3-Pack Swim Goggles

Solid Baby Bucket Hat

Striped Baby Bucket Hat

I even bought her a cute little bathing suit before she was born!  Here are some others I’m loving:

My Favorite Baby Swimsuits

Swimsuit and Hairband Set

Leopard Ruffle Swimsuit

Neon Heart Swimsuit

Pastel Ruffle One Piece Swimsuit

Bright Floral One Piece

Striped One Piece Swimsuit

Leopard Print Longsleeve Swimuit

After taking her in our pool at home a few times (the water was about 86 degrees Fahrenheit), we realized that she wanted more.  I’m not sure how to explain it, but she definitely wanted to put her face under the water.  My first job in high school and my early college years was a pool lifeguard and swim instructor, but I was still nervous to put her underwater.

So we signed up for “mommy n’ me” swim classes at our local pool.  For us, it was AQUATOTS, but just do a Google search for infant swim classes in your area.  We started going twice a week, rotating between Brett, my mom, and me.  She loved it, and they showed us how to safely teach her how to go underwater.

Love seeing all the cute photos. I noticed that on your list are a selection of items from Carter’s. You will find that Carter’s is a real go to for clothes, swimwear for a long time to come. I bought Carter’s items for my kids because of the quality and now buy for my 4 Grandkids. Would buy for the 5th one be he has outgrown them now at age 14.
